I work at a summer camp, and one of my many duties is teaching a cartooning class.
Part of our character creation discussion revolves around the use of color. We discuss the basics of color theory and how color is used to elicit an emotional response from the audience.
We then discuss the effect of changing the colors used on your character to create a completely different effect on the audience.
We used a Wonder Woman illustration I previously posted and had the kids color the costume in a completely different way than WW's traditional primary/American Flag inspired garb.
